Church Notices for week beginning 5th November
Our service this morning was led by one of our own congregation, Mrs Nan Maxwell, who also took the communion part of the service.
Monday 6th November – Floral Art Class meets at 7.00pm. For those that are attending this clas,s there is an information leaflet listing the materials required in the pink folder on the magazine rack in the church vestibule. If anyone is having trouble sourcing any of the materials required, please contact Edith.
Tuesday 7th November – Knit & Natter Social Time meets at 10.00am.
Games Afternoon for the young & not so young meets in the hall at 2.00pm.
Rainbow Tribe & Spectrum meet from 6.00pm.
Wednesday 8th November – Worship Group Meeting in the John Tweddle Room at 9.45am.
Thursday 9th November – Soup & Sweet Lunches are being served from 11.30am to 1.30pm. Home baking, jams etc for the stall are required, as are prizes for the Tombola. All will be gratefully received.
Also on Thursday, the Girls Brigade will be meeting at 6.00pm.
Next Sunday 12th November – Remembrance Sunday. Our Church Service & Sunday Seekers will start at the later time of 11.15am approx. The service will be led by the Revd Iain Mackenzie and according to the church rotation listings the organisations present at the service will be The Girls Brigade, Scouts & Cubs. However that information has still to be confirmed.
For those that are unable to attend the Town Service at the War Memorial, there will be a short service in our church at 10.45am which will include 2 minutes silence at 11.00am.
We have recently received a letter from Christian Aid thanking the members of Annan United Reformed Church for the £88.05 received as a result of their recent letter & leaflets on behalf of the Christian Aid DEC Rohingya Appeal. A copy of the thankyou letter is on the noticeboard at the front entry of the church.
Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal. If you have not already done so, can you please return your filled shoeboxes so that they can begin their journey to their final destination. Please return your shoebox by no later than next Sunday the 12th November.
Food Bank & Tombola. A reminder that dried, tinned & packaged items for the Food Bank & items for prizes for the Tombola are always required. Contributions can be left in the marked boxes in the church vestibule.
