Tuesday 17th October
Knit & Natter Social Time meets at 10.00am.
Games Afternoon for the young & not so young meets in the hall at 2.00pm.
Since it is the school holidays Rainbow Tribe & Spectrum will not be meeting.
Thursday 19th October
There will be no meeting of Girls Brigade.
Saturday 21st October
The local area committee for the World Day of Prayer are holding an open meeting in St Ninian’s Church Hall, Castle Douglas between 1.30pm and 3.00pm when Margaret Broster, the recently appointed Convenor of the World Day of Prayer Scottish Committee is visiting, to meet, encourage & discuss the background of The World Day Of Prayer 2018 & the work of the Scottish Committee. It is hoped that all distributers, organisers & friends of The World Day of Prayer will attend this meeting to enjoy this time together.
Next Sunday 22nd October – Church Service for all is at 10.30am.
Joseph Kidd-Bentley will be leading our worship, with help from some members of the Girls Brigade.
The total raised at the Soup & Sweet Lunches held on Thursday 12th October was £477.00.
Our grateful thanks to all those who helped on the day & also to those who came along & supported the event.
- Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal. It is nearly time to collect filled shoeboxes for children for Christmas. Please be prepared to return them when invited for onwarding to Operation Christmas Child.
- Food Bank & Tombola. A reminder that dried, tinned & packaged items for the Food Bank & prizes for the Tombola are still required. Contributions can be left in the marked boxes in the church vestibule.
- Please remember that next Sunday 22nd October is the last date for items for the November edition of the church newsletter.
- Lastly – Anyone wishing a copy of the 2018 editions of either the Reform Magazine or the Prayer Handbook should please contact Jim Murray as soon as possible.
